Not exactly a truck but no doubt a commercial car. Emblem removed. Photo from the Life Magazine Collection.

It's a Checker alright. I thought this was a neat photo and have had it in my files for a while, because I wasn't completely sure it was a Checker. And when I'm not completely sure, someone usually finds me wrong ! But low and behold, the other day I found a vendor ad in Commercial Car Journal featuring a 1936 Checker. So there you have it. Bill Murray says it is a 1935 Model Y, and I can't argue with that either. Welcome to the WAI, Bill ! Don MacKenzie had this 1st; The photo is from the Life Magazine Collection and the ad from the April 1936 edition of CCJ.
