Another unusual one, although a Diamond Reo. A C-92 with the butterfly hood option. It shows up in the sales literature, but this is the only one I've seen.

I talked to Jerry at Macungie and told him how much I liked the looks of that truck and he told me how some one he knows took interest in the truck and had done reasearch on it. I do not remember exactly what he said but I got the impression it is rare because of the front end.

Fred - I agree that is a nice one. It's a model 990S, the only one I've ever heard of. Instead of the big cast radiator usually found on a 990, this one has a grille with a normal radiator. I've never seen a 990S mentioned in any sales literature.

I dug up this old Diamond T post so I could post this jewel owned by Jerry Howard. In my opinion this is a one of the best looking of the DTs.

Bill,

Probably had a 300 Cummins. These were the super heavy version of the 950. The checkerplate fenders were necessary to cover the wider front axle. They were used mostly for off road logging and a few were destined for the coal fields.

Cheers,Pat
